About Us
Established by brothers, Dr. Colm O’Brien and Dr. Ronan O’Brien, from County Wicklow, Wilton Clinic offers a full suite of Primary Care Medical Services from ante-natal to older years. Our team has been enhanced by the arrival of Dr Cheryl Swarbrigg and our Practice Nurse Liz Given.

Our Aims
Provide excellent holistic primary healthcare to the people living and working in Rathnew and Wicklow and the surrounding areas in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Provide an equitable service to all patients - young and old, public and private patients.
Accept all patients including those with Medical Cards, Doctor Visit and Under 6 cards.
Offer same day urgent appointments.

Dr. Ronan O’Brien
MB BAO BCh, MICGP, B.E. (UCD)

Ronan is from Bray Co Wicklow and qualified with honours from UCD Medicine in 2011 and went on to complete his Specialist Training in General Practice in the North Dublin General Practice Scheme. He has worked in Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Endocrinology and Infectious disease. He worked in Emergency Medicine in the Mater Hospital and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. He has completed a certificate in Palliative Care Medicine and has completed a diploma in Musculoskeletal Injuries and treatment run by the Irish College of General Practitioners and the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine. Ronan lives in Bray and has 3 children in primary school.
Dr. Colm O’Brien

Colm qualified with honours from University College Dublin Medicine in 2003 and completed his specialist training in General Practice from the Trinity GP scheme in 2010. He spent time in Australia before returning home to complete his GP training. He also attained membership exams of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (MRCPI), a Diploma in Dermatology at UCD and a Certificate in Diabetes with the ICGP. He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education at the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2014 and has worked as a clinical tutor for undergraduates at The Royal College Of Surgeons Medical School in Dublin and as a GP tutor for undergraduates of UCD. He has worked in a busy group GP practice in Gorey since 2012. He lives in Gorey with his wife and 3 children.
Dr Cheryl Swarbrigg
MB BCh BAO MICGP DME
Cheryl graduated from Trinity School of Medicine in 2004. During her undergraduate studies she was awarded the De Renzy Prize in General Practice & Public Health.
She completed her Specialist GP training in 2012 having worked in a number of Dublin hospitals and practices since qualifying.
She has a special interests in Medicine for the Elderly & Women’s Health holding a Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly along with an ICGP Certificate in Contraception. She is experienced in the area of long-acting reversible contraception (both coils and implants). She has also completed the ICGP Menopause Course and is a member of the Menopause Society of Ireland.
Cheryl has worked in County Wicklow since 2013. She lives in Greystones with her husband and 3 children.
Nurse Liz Given, RGN
Liz completed her RGN training in Charing Cross Hospital, London in 1992. In 1994, she commenced work as a District Nurse, later moving into General Practice. In 1997, Liz moved to Ireland where she continues to work in General Practice. She has completed training and is experienced in a variety of areas including, Phlebotomy, Health Promotion, Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Travel Medicine, Continence Management, Cervical Screening & Childhood Vaccinations.
Liz is a member of the Irish General Practice Nurses Educational Association (IGPNEA) and regularly attends study sessions to update her knowledge and skills. Liz lives in Wicklow and is married with two children who are in secondary school.
